The main focus of this project is to explore the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence Generated Synthetic Photography (AIGSP) that is virtually indistinguishable from real-world photographs.
Abot project is an idea of the french photographer Jules Viera (analog & digital since 2010), who believes that it is essential to challenge the traditional notions of what constitutes a "real" photograph and to open people's minds to the possibilities and ethics of AI-generated images.
The documentary approach of this project aims to open the debate on the potential of AI to improve or destabilize the world of photography, in which ethics the contents must be directed.
Working as a collaboration bot/human, using the MidJourney platform, Jules Viera has developed an approach that challenges the power of AI algorithms to create synthetic images that closely resemble real-world photographs. The images generated by MidJourney's AI algorithms are post edited as real photo, using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, adding the photographer personal touch to create visually stunning and highly realistic images/photographs.
Rather than simply enabling the photographer to capture images that could be achieved in the real world, this project aims to improve the capabilities of AI-generated synthetic photography and to push the boundaries of what is possible in this field.
By demonstrating the potential of AI-generated images, Jules Viera hopes to encourage people to talk about the new technologies in this field and explore the creative possibilities they offer.
